P!NK STUPID GIRLS... or are they orange?

Stupid Girls is one of my favorite music video's to date and not just because I got to be one of the MakeUp artists on the video. I don't think that I have ever laughed so hard in my life. I don't know how we ever got to say, "That's a Wrap!"

Billy B, key makeup artist for P!NK, called me in to help him with the Airbrushing of Pink, to turn her orange, for the mystic tan part of the video. I remember it was a week before her wedding and she told me over and over that she couldn't be stained orange for her wedding. I made sure to stay until the end and scrub her down with baby oil over and over again just to make sure of it. Hope you liked the free massage Pink! Thanks for all the cupcakes! Can't believe you woke up at 4am to make all of them. You ROCK every ones world!

The very talented Makeup Artist Billy B. I have learned so much from you on set, in masterclasses, and in store. Also I hope you learned a little from me from my airbrush lesson.
He had Tom Perez there for the shoot as an assistant who is a great friend that used to work at MAC Pro with me as well. Nathan Hamilton was also a MakeUp artist there for the shoot! I have a post about Nathan.

This video was nominated for "BEST MAKEUP" at the VMA's... and it was all because of this guy...

OSCAR FEVER 2006

Oscars are next weekend and I'll be busy for 3 days. Last year was amazing with the pre pre party with a concert by James Taylor and Carol King, the night before party at The Beverly Hills Hotel, the viewing party with Hayden Panettiere, and my favorite part of the day was watching the Oscar's eating lasagna at Sarah Silvermans house before doing her makeup for an after party. Ask me about the iron/poker table story sometime!!! Or I will write about it when I get caught up to 2010!
In the meantime... back to Oscars 2006 I was able to work on Rosie from
BRITISH GLAMOUR!!! It was nearing the end of my time with MAC Cosmetics and I'm Glad that Rosie Chose me to give her what I called a "Fantasy Glam" Red Carpet Look. I think that She had a big crush on Rod Stewart and wanted to get some stories about him out of me... Maybe not though!

Here's the story in GLAMOUR!!!

MARCY... How to do a Soft Sculpted Daytime Eye

Everyone meet Marcy!!! Beauty at Every Age Beauty of the Week. I met her at Westside Nordstrom when she came in to get a simple everyday new look. Marcy likes it soft and subtle. She laughed when I asked her if she was going out tonight? I love your realness and the ability you have to make me smile!

If you notice below, the eye and brow on the right is applied only. It looks brighter, softly sculpted and slightly bigger. Eye shadows on a mature eye can be complicated. Shimmer or no shimmer? how high should I apply and where... were questions that many women like Marcy have. If you have similar frustrations or are reading this and thinking of your mom or Grandma please show them this video as well. It's super easy to follow! Right Marcy? ;)

Want to get this look? Products used on the eyes are:
Good Genetics... ha ha ha
Eye Shadow Base: Aquatique
Eye Shadows: Cream Lustre, Daylight, Platform, and Snap
Brushes: #17 Blending and Highlighting, #18 Dual End Lid and Liner
Liners: Gris Noir Khol Pencil, Artliner in IceBlack, Brow Liner in Natural Blonde
Mascara: Definicils Precious Cells in Black

THANK YOU MY MARCY FOR ADOPTING ME!!! I LOVE YOUR SMILE SO MUCH!

Chris Benz Fall Winter 2011 Fashion Show

NEW YORK FASHION WEEK with CHRIS BENZ is to date the most fun fashion show I have been a part of. Key MakeUp artist Daniel Martin and friend of Chirs lead a team of over 13 artists including all 7 National MakeUp artists for Lancome, Our leader Carin, Michelle Phan, and more artists from the New York area. The inspiration on how he came up with the look with Chris is below in a VIDEO!

I arrived at 62nd and Columbus in New York NY around noon. Backstage was already jumping with stylists, hair, makeup, clothes clothes clothes! You know my obsession with clothes so I set up my Lancome kit right next to Chris's rack of Fall/Winter 2011 collection.

My backstage photos and video are being edited and produced now and will come to you soon!

My first model was the beautiful Kasue. She was my brunette and got the plum pallet. I sculpted her eyes using 2 shadows from the 5 pan mauve pallet and noir waterproof liner. Her skin was perfected using Teint Miracle Foundation and set with Dual finish powder. Cheeks were softly sculpted in Mauve Coquette and lips were soft with a new lipstick coming out in the Absoulue line called Nu. Love Nude lips! Here is what Kasue looked like in the show!

GORGEOUS!

My second model, my blond, and from Canada was Sam. She is in the pink jacket below. I have never seen such beautiful blond lashes and brows. We had so much fun and I think that she know has met the funniest person in her life... me! I love making people laugh. on Sam got the look using two shades in the Teal 5 pan pallet and also got Noir Waterproof liner. Hypnose Mascara, same blush as above and Nu lip but in a different shade!

HOT!!!

Loved working with the FAMOUS Michelle Phan backstage. Her Video's on YouTube make history and she is one of the nicest persons I have ever worked with.

NY FASHION WEEK LOGAN NEITZEL

I first met Logan Neitzel up in Seattle on capital hill through good friends Tanya, Caroline, Matt, and Joel. I fell in love with his fashion, his passion, and attitude on life and creativity. It wasn't long after, that the world, including all the models on Project Runway fell in love with him too.

Today I was able to go to his New York Fashion Week Show on Wall Street. His hard work, and lack of sleep, amazed me, photographers and viewers conveyed from the models featuring his collection.

The amount of work put into this collection is hard to describe. Every stitch was in Logans control. He came out to take a deep breath at the show with a needle still in his hand. Thanks Logan for letting me admire your art work. You are a true friend that inspires me! I can't wait to do makeup for one of your shows!

MakeUp Artist Nathan Scott Hamilton. My Trainer, My Teacher, My Friend... photoshoots with photographer David LaChapelle

One of my favorite Trainers and Teachers when it comes to MakeUp is the forever talented and creative NATHAN SCOTT HAMILTON! www.nathanscotthamilton.com

2004-2006 He was kind enough to let me assist and learn from him while working on different ad and video shoots with the amazing and most popular photographer,
DAVID LACHAPELLE!

I LOVE watching him work, and work fast. He is a perfectionist and his story boards show true creativeness that he brings to life when he paints the face and body!
One of his first shoots, with me as an assistant, with David LaChapelle was for Skyy Sport. Here are a couple of the tears from the shoot!

I then was able to assist Nathan with the video shoot for the back screen behind Elton John, for his Vegas show: The Red Piano. One of the highlights was the concert Elton put on for friends and family and for everyone who worked on the production in Vegas! FUN NIGHT!

Another shoot Nathan did with David LaChapelle where I was able to assist was for Motorolla. This mask he created all from makeup was inspirational, clean, and perfection. Beautiful work as always Nathan. Thanks for letting me help you but mostly just watch you create!
